Just like an old Chinese saying “everything has its vanquisher”, “Stick，tiger and chicken” (Bang Zi Lao Hu Ji) is right in every possible way. The title of the film is inspired from a drinking game doggerel in nursery rhyme prevailing all over China, which is more or less like the rule of the popular Western game “Stone, Scissors and Cloth”. It states that tiger eats chicken, chicken eats insect, insect bites stick while stick beats the tiger. It is a simple but pleasant drinking game doggerel with impressive lasting appeal. In the film, Zeng Zhiwei plays the role of a super magnate called brother Tiger, Xia Yu is the fire balloon manager Da Chun, while Gigi Lung is the beer salesgirl Huan’er in the wine bar. There is also a fashionable girl Candy (Tangtang by Tang Yan) and a threatening handsome piano-man Qiao Bang (By Qi Ji). Concentrating on these five characters，the story tells how they fight the battle of wits and courage in such a prosperous and busy modern city.
